The possibilities of classical homeopathy in the treatment of recurring illness – Kuzmina MD

Kuzmina I.F.,

Ch. doctor of the Clinic of classical homeopathy.

Hahnemann, Moscow. 2017

The most difficult question that was raised by my homeopathic practice was the question of the possibility of homeopathy in the treatment of hereditary and genetic diseases.

The depth of this pathology can be different, as well as the prognosis of any treatment method, from the incurability of the case to complete clinical remission.

Allow me to present to your attention one of these cases from my practice.

It will be about treating recurrent illness.

Intermittent diseases deserve special consideration, such as those that recur during certain periods, such as a large number of intermittent fevers and non-febrile diseases, which, like intermittent fevers, recur at certain intervals, as well as those with painful conditions alternating through indefinite intervals with painful conditions of another kind.

These painful, seemingly non-febrile conditions, typical, periodically returning and observed from time to time in only one single patient always relate to chronic diseases, mainly those that are purely psoric, only rarely complicated by syphilis, and are successfully treated by the same means; nevertheless, it is sometimes necessary to use a small dose of a potentiated quinta solution as an intermediate means in order to completely eliminate their intermittent nature.

The best time to take medication in such cases is immediately or very soon after the cessation of the attack, as soon as the patient has recovered to some degree;

whereas the effect of the medicine, taken immediately before the attack, coincides with the natural repetition of the disease and causes such a reaction in the body, such acute contradictions that it causes at least a huge loss of strength, if not life threatening

Periodic illness.

Names: Familial Mediterranean fever, benign familial paroxysmal peritonitis, Armenian disease.

It is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder with full gene penetrance.

Both men and women are at risk of becoming ill; family cases are noted

The etiology is not well understood. It is assumed that patients have an inborn metabolic enzymatic defect, which entails a violation of the immune and endocrine systems, protein synthesis, proteolysis

Variants of the clinical course of periodic disease

abdominal, occurring with a picture of an acute abdomen, about which almost half of patients with this form of recurrent disease is operated

thoracic, with a picture of dry or exudative pleurisy, with effusion within the sinuses

articular in the form of arthralgia, arthritis, affecting one or more joints

pseudo malarial

Abdominal variation

The most common form, with the expanded picture gives symptoms of acute abdomen. It begins in early childhood and adolescence. It manifests itself with periodic bouts of acute abdominal pain,

simulating peritonitis, or chest pain, high temperature (up to 39-40 ° C), arthralgia or arthritis, in some cases early development of amyloidosis. Crises last 1-2 days and can cause erroneous surgical interventions, in particular laparotomy, in which usually only serous effusion is found.

During the crisis, they reveal leukocytosis, an increase in ESR, fibrinogen content in the blood. Urine is usually not changed, excluding amyloidosis. Rheumatoid Factor is not detectable. Radiographs with an increase in the duration of the disease degenerative changes in the joints are detected. 30-43% of patients may develop amyloidosis, which is not related to the frequency, nature of the seizures and duration of illness and leads to renal failure.

Standard treatment of recurrent disease offered by medicine.

* Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the period of acute attacks

* Physiotherapy

* Corticosteroids are ineffective.

* To reduce the number of repeated attacks, colchicine is prescribed for a long time in small doses.

* Sometimes seizures completely disappear.

* However, positive results are not always achieved, moreover, treatment can be difficult due to the toxic effect of the drug.

Case Description:

Boy 9 years old with a diagnosis

Periodic illness, abdominal form, complicated by amyloidosis

12.10.12. – primary reception

Child from 1st pregnancy. Delivery by Caesarean section, at birth Apgar score 9 points

Mother is Armenian, suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Vaccination plan up to 1.5 years. With 1.5 years of enuresis.

Anamnesis morbi

In December 2006 for the first time, a rise in temperature to 39-40 ° was accompanied by severe abdominal pain and vomiting (a diagnosis of acute respiratory disease was made). During the year, repeated bouts of fever. The diagnosis of recurrent disease was made only in a year.

Since January 2008 were treated with homeopathy (Belladonna, Bryonia, Tuberculinum in high potencies and frequent receptions, Phosphorus, Iodinum, Sulfur, Baryta carbonica, Alumina, etc.)

In June 2008 amyloid in urine – 300! Because of homeopathic treatment, amyloid became 18.8 (at a rate of up to 10), although the attacks did not go away, on the contrary, the intervals between attacks decreased from 38 to 13 days! Enuresis did not pass, moreover, the child periodically began to suffer encopresis

Homeopathic symptoms

Also, over the past year, fears have intensified – dogs, darkness, insects. The nature of the child has deteriorated.

By the nature he is an authoritarian, quick-tempered, but easily appeased, boastful, affectionate, trustful, sensitive to injustice.

Well developed, inquisitive, studying at 5.

A squeamish, but eats crusts from sores, discharge from the nose and ears.

He loves salt, sour, ice cream, cutlets, borscht, loves everything cold (3).

Scratches sores to blood, often complains of itchy back in the evening in bed.

Periodically deficates in pants. Enuresis.

Occasionally, dull pain in the abdomen at night with relief from eating.

Bouts of fever

Does not get colds since the onset of the disease,

Concerned only frequent bouts of high fever.

The nature of the attacks: from the evening fever quickly rises to 39-40 ° and lasts several days with short periods of respite. Fever is accompanied by severe pain in the abdomen, sometimes vomiting, severe weakness.

Recently, seizures increased to 1 time in 2 weeks.

Parents refused traditional treatment.

Amyloid – 18.8

SRB from 05/28/16

Chininum-sulphuricum is an antagonist of malaria poison, and perhaps that is why it is able to suppress intermittent fevers even when unable to cure them. A complete cure is achieved only when the fever is fully consistent with the patient’s own type. The frequency of symptoms is clearly expressed, the seizures are renewed daily at the same time. Feverish attacks with dizziness, pain in the forehead, bitter taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal stabbing pains, severe chills, intense fever, yawning, sneezing and profuse sweat; violent attacks with trembling and chills, profuse sweat profuse sweat; violent seizures with trembling and chills, profuse sweat.

Prescription – Chininum-sulphuricum 30C

10.25.12. – 13 days after taking the drug there was an attack, but proceeded in a light form. The temperature did not rise above 37.3. The patient was profusely sweating and the condition quickly returned to normal.

Re-prescription of Chininum-sulphuricum 30C

02.12.12. – after 39 days a short attack of fever up to 37.3-37.7 and a slight pain in the abdomen.

Repeat medication.

03/02/13. – after 58 days an attack of fever with a temperature of 37.5 without pain in the abdomen.

Repeat medication.

Amyloid from 01/02/13. – 0.9!!!

Hemoglobin – 14.5

Follow-up 06/29/13

No attacks of fever.

The child became more nervous (uneasy family relations), and more closed

Periodically bites fingernails

Tears left eye on the street from the wind.

Drug change.

Natrium muriaticum 1M is prescribed.

Within a month, enuresis and encopresis occurred.

After 2 months of relapse on enuresis, repeat the dose.

Follow-up 09/16/13.

The general state of health is good, there are no attacks of fever. There is no enuresis.

There are warts on the hands, began to bite nails on the hands more

Stubborn, impatient, capricious and whining, began to manipulate adults, the fear of dogs has not changed

He really wants salty cheese and ice cream (he eats 2-3 servings)

Prescription – Medorrhinum 1M, 2 doses with an interval in a month.

After Medorrhinum, the child’s nervous system returned to normal, stopped biting its nails, and the warts disappeared.

Constitutional treatment

Since 2014 the patient receives his constitutional drug Lycopodium on the Kent scale for his minor complaints (recurrent stomach pain, constipation, delayed growth)

Amyloid 12/22/14. – 0.1.

Hemoglobin -14,6

Since 2015 He began to get sick with colds with a fever of 1-2 times a year.

Remission for recurrent disease 5 years.

This case clearly demonstrates the possibilities of the homeopathic method in the treatment of recurrent disease, which is a hereditary genetic disease, especially since the patient did not take any allopathic treatment and homeopathy was used as monotherapy.

In this case, Chininum-sulphuricum was prescribed on the principle of similarity and was a pathognomonic drug for the treatment of this recurrent disease.

For a more in-depth treatment of the body, other drugs were used (situational drug Natrium muriaticum, nosode Medorrhinum, and constitutional remedy Lycopodium). It can be assumed that without these deep preparations, the effect could not be so persistent. This is exactly the difference between deep anti-miasmatic treatment and a good homeopathic palliative.

Studying the effectiveness and possibilities of homeopathy in correcting genetic diseases is a very difficult task and requires further study and many years of work of homeopathic physicians over several generations of the human community.
